Despite his simple design, he can be a bit of a challenge to draw correctly, but worry not! I have made it so much simpler by breaking it down into some simple steps that anyone could follow. No matter your age or skill level, you too can learn to draw this adorable character.<\/span><\/p>\n

Once finished, you could even draw some backgrounds or add some more Pok\u00e9mon pals for Pikachu.<\/span><\/p>\n

How to Draw Pikachu \u2013 Let\u2019s get Started!<\/h2>\n

Step 1<\/h3>\n

\nTo begin learning how to draw Pikachu, we will be starting off with his head. If you want a bit of extra guidance, you can draw a circle in light pencil to use as a guide.<\/p>\n

Then, we will be starting his head off using three lines. The line at the top of his head will be a very slightly curved line, while the two at the sides will be a bit wavier.<\/p>\n

Once it looks like the reference image, we can proceed to step 2!<\/p>\n

Step 2 – Draw in Pikachu\u2019s ears<\/h3>\n

\nPikachu has distinctive pointy ears, and we will be adding them in for this next step of your Pikachu drawing.<\/p>\n

In the previous step, we left in two small gaps between the lines of his head, and you can add his ears to those gaps. To add in his ears, you can use some curved lines that end in a point as you can see them in the picture.<\/p>\n

Step 3 – Add in his arms and body<\/h3>\n

\nNow that you have the head and ears of your Pikachu drawing, you can start to add in his arms and body.<\/p>\n

Much like the first step, you could use a light pencil to draw in an oval shape under his head to help you get the scale of his body correct.<\/p>\n

Starting with his arms, you can add in a very slightly curved line coming up from just under his head.<\/p>\n

Then, simply add in a few points for his fingers. You can then finish off his arm with another line going down towards his body.<\/p>\n

Once you repeat that step for his other arm, you can use two curved lines from under his arms to make his body as it appears in the reference picture.<\/p>\n

Step 4 – Now draw in Pikachu\u2019s feet<\/h3>\n

\nFor the next step in our guide on how to draw<\/a> Pikachu, you can add in his feet. Pikachu\u2019s feet are very small and close to his body, with no leg between them and his body.<\/p>\n

You can use two curved lines for each foot of your Pikachu drawing, and then add in one more line for the bottom of his body.<\/p>\n

Step 5 – Draw in a tail for Pikachu<\/h3>\n

\nAnother aspect of Pikachu that makes him so iconic is his lightning bolt-shaped tail. It helps to represent that he has the power of electricity, and we will be adding it to your Pikachu drawing now.<\/p>\n

His tail may take a bit of practice to get the shape right, so you could practice it on another sheet of paper before drawing it onto your Pikachu.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s made up of a few straight, jagged lines to form the shape of his tail. Once you\u2019ve added in his tail, then you can use two short lines near the top of his ears as the tips of his ears are going to be a different color to the rest of his ears.<\/p>\n

Step 6 – Now, add in Pikachu\u2019s face<\/h3>\n

For his eyes, he has two small circles quite far apart on his face. You can draw a tiny circle in each one to show a glint in his eyes.<\/p>\n

You can then draw in a tiny nose for him that looks a bit like a cat\u2019s nose. His mouth is made up of two curved lined, with a long shape beneath them to show that his mouth is open.<\/p>\n

The final elements of his face are two circles on his cheek that you can color in later. Once his face is complete, you can finish him off with some lines on his feet to show the divide of his toes.<\/p>\n

Bonus: Add Some More Of Your Favorite Pokemon To This Drawing!<\/h3>\n

When it comes to the Pokemon series<\/a>, it\u2019s fair to say that Pikachu is the most famous and iconic. When you mention Pokemon to anyone, there is a good chance that Pikachu is the character that will come to mind.<\/p>\n

Many people love this character, but there are thousands of other Pokemon characters that could be added to this Pikachu drawing! If you love other Pokemon characters, then you should show them off by adding them.<\/p>\n

There are some classics from the earlier days of Pokemon. These could include the starter Pokemon of Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur.<\/p>\n

If you need some help drawing them, then you could look up some pictures or use the cartoons and video games as direct references. However, there are many other choices.<\/p>\n

You could have Pikachu with some legendary Pokemon like Mewtwo, for example. You don\u2019t have to limit it to just Pokemon characters though.<\/p>\n

In the anime, Pikachu is often seen by the side of the trainer Ash Ketchum. You can probably see where this is going!<\/p>\n

We think it would be fun to add Ash to the scene. Another approach would be to add Ash and some of his most iconic Pokemon alongside this Pikachu drawing.<\/p>\n

Any characters you add can be looked up if you need references to draw them. The characters could be ones that never interacted with Pikachu if you have favorites from other eras and mediums of Pokemon.<\/p>\n
